    Hi im from india

I chanced upon some of swamiji’s books by sheer luck.
I wanted to know if they are available in india.
I wanted the book on kashmir shaivism.

Is there any local bookshop or any local centre that one can contact in DELHI, India.

Also some of the books are priced high by indian standards.

    Is there an alternative?

May lord shiva bless you all.

Hi, thank you for your interest. As a start I would recommend “The Self Realization in Kashmir Shaivism”, which gives a very good overview of the life of Swamiji, the main systems and texts of Kashmir Shaivism, text on Kundalini and much more. The “Bhagavad Gita in the light of Kashmir Shaivism” is my personal favorite, it reads very easy and has practical down to earth advice. It is however not exactly a Kashmir Shaivite text but rather been “whitewashed” and infused with Kashmir Shaivism by Abhinavagupta 🙂. He has also added a few very important verses not included in the traditional version. A very beautiful devotional book is the “Hymns to Shiva, Utpaladeva’s Shivastotravali”, it is quite unique for Kashmir Shaivism, plus the recitation of it is magical. The Secret Supreme is the summary of the Tantraloka, a purely Kashmir Shaivite text, which is considered the most important Kashmir Shaivite text. Swamiji says to “read it over and over again”. I hope that helps. Jai Guru Dev!
