Mahasamadhi Celebration Swami Lakshmanjoo

We thank everybody who came to the annual Mahasamadhi (Final Liberation) Ceremony for Swami Lakshmanjoo and made it a memorable event. We all enjoyed the short but powerful atmosphere created by the fire ceremony and traditional recitation by Swami Prasad, a priest from the Malibu Temple. During the end of the recitations it rained shortly, which is a very auspicious sign that the Havan was successful and the offerings were accepted. Afterwards we took prashad (food blessed by the Master) of delicious traditional Kashmiri vegetarian dishes and lots of sweets 🙂

Quite a few of you joined us live via web-streaming for the Mahasamadhi Celebration, here is a replay of the video for all of you.

Part two…

The next day we came together for our semi annual four day retreat to meditate and study audio and video recordings of Swamiji from the Tantraloka, Hymns to Shiva, Utpaladeva’s Shivastotravali, Parapraveshika, and ‘Special Verses for Practice‘ that Swamiji had compiled during the Summer of 1987. When asked about the source of these ‘Special Verses’ Swamiji replied, “It is not for research, it is for your daily recitation . . . maybe sometime you will experience these stages . . . it will be helpful to you in your spiritual practice.”

Jai Guru Dev!
